I’ve finally set a date for my exhibit’s opening party.
The opening party will be Thursday, March 24th, 5-7pm at Guaranty Bank, 2711 Bever Avenue SE Cedar Rapids, IA.
If you can’t make it to the opening that’s OK! The exhibit will be open during normal business hours from March 14th through April.
Please RSVP on the Facebook event page http://on.fb.me/NYinHDR
Can’t wait to see you there!
Hey fans! I just made a video to promote my NY in HDR exhibit. Kickstart pledges are coming in nicely. There are just 13 more days to get to my goal of $2000. If you’re interested in purchasing a piece you can pre-order by pledging on the Kickstarter site. http://kck.st/sethwalters
I hope you enjoy the video. Keep checking back for updates on the exhibit.
Cheers!
Seth
In October of 2010 I traveled to NYC for the first time. From the moment I stepped off the plane I couldn’t seem to put my camera down. In the 7 days I was there I took over 2000 photos. But it doesn’t stop there. In March 2011 I am having an exhibit to show all of these photos. Well, okay, not ALL of them. I’m hoping it to be my biggest exhibit yet. Here are a few photos that will be shown.
If you’re interested in purchasing any work from the show please check out this link.
It gives you a chance to help fund the exhibit and receive work from the show in return. Think of it as pre-ordering work from the show.
Please pass this blog on to your friends, family, colleagues, etc. Every little bit helps!
This morning I woke up to find (as did most Cedar Rapids citizens) all of the trees covered in frost. So after I got my morning coffee at Brewed Awakenings I went out to capture the beauty of the morning. These are the results.
This morning I was alerted by my friend Rob that a train had derailed outside of his apartment complex. As soon as I heard I jumped in the car and headed down to take some photos. Here is the result.
I’ve never really had the chance to take a photo of a perfectly still body of water that acted like a mirror. So I was pretty excited when I came across this puddle. Directly behind me is a factory that has been demolished due to flood damage. I photographed it back when the damage was fresh and was a little disappointed when I returned to see it all gone because it was a really sweet photo spot. It was extremely dangerous though, so it’s probably a good thing they demolished it.
I took this photo on my way to meet up with some friends that I hadn’t seen in a long time. I was already late but as I was crossing the 1st avenue bridge and saw what you are now seeing I just couldn’t let it pass. Thank God I had all my equipment with me. This is a 3 exposure HDR image. ISO 400, f/9.0, and 10, 20 and 30 second exposures. My favorite part about this photo is in the right of the image where there are hundreds of crows hanging out.
